Jewish New Years Resolutions

1. Learn to bowl.

2. Start a band.

3. Seize every opportunity to wear tights with horizontal stripes. I hear they don't look this flattering forever.

Happy New Year!!

No work, all play!

My dad has a job. Most days, the people at his job tell him that he has to come press the keys on their computer and talk on their phone. So he goes...very early in the morning (before I get up!) and doesn't get home until all the kids in the neighborhood have to go inside to eat their dinner and get in bed. So yesterday, I said, "Dada, sfjdkj dfdgv defakjdkdn dsfkjhdfkjad." (My English isn't so good yet.) Which translates to, "You shouldn't be the only kid on the block who doesn't get time for fun." So I took him to the museum to let him run around a little bit and play with the toys.
While Dada explained that I can't keep all the race cars for myself, I explained that the other kids hanging out at the track insisted that I take them.

The room with the cars is my personal fave, but we had to drag Dada away from this exhibit.

Here we are rocking out in the music room.

Does this fancy medical coat qualify me to write my dad a doctor's note excusing him from his job once a week for mandatory playdates???

A leg up on the fashion competition

In my 20 or so months on the job as a baby, I have learned that fashion is a fleeting thing. What's in today may be out tomorrow...which is just fine when your clothes only fit for one season! But in order to make my mark on the fashion world, it is clear that I can't just follow the trends...I must set them. The real fashion icons take something old and make it new again. Like leggings, for instance. Mom tells me they were big in the 80s paired with an oversized shirt. Last year, some fashion hobnobber brought them back under tunics and dresses. May whoever tracks such ins and outs of apparel and accessories please make note that on this 20th day of September, 2008, I gave leggings a brand new spin for fall.

Do these pants make my head look big?

Just another day at the museum...

As part of my quest to find the answer to the eternal question -- can one possibly go to the Children's Museum enough times to actually see everything -- we hit the museum for visits no. 4 and no. 5 this week. I took friends with me both times for assistance. And even with two times the baby power, we still couldn't manage to see and touch everything! Although I haven't walked away from the museum with "the answer," I do always score some good candids.

Ga Ga to Mission Control: Low on cookies. Please send reinforcements.

On the TV set, it occurs to me that perhaps I'm at the stage in my acting career where I need a wardrobe assistant.

Mom insists that this is the only time in our lives that Rylie and I will permit photography while standing on a scale.

Here I am demonstrating how I keep my 3-gallon physique through regular exercise.

And for my next trick...

Here are a few outtakes from the new self-help video I am currently working on, titled, "How to Spend the Longest Time Possible in Your High Chair While Consuming Essentially Nothing of Nutritional Consequence." I expect it to be a hit with...well...no one, as every other kid my size seems to really enjoy eating. Nonetheless, it has provided some excellent footage of some of my skills, including feeding myself with big kid utensils, expressing my enjoyment of certain foods, and my word-of-the-week ("uh oh," or something close to it).

Small talk

Lately my mom and dad have been a little worried about the fact that I am closing in on 20 months and remain a baby of few words. To put their minds at ease, I've been making an effort over the past week to communicate a little more. Most of the time I speak in my native tongue (a fusion between Chinese and Ewok dialects), but I throw in a few words in English for good measure. Here are some snippets of a couple of our recent conversations...

Here I am telling my mom that if she doesn't adjust the lighting setting on her camera, this video's gonna turn out with an odd blue tint. Not that she listens...

After months of repeating words to me OVER AND OVER again to no avail, Mom and Dad discover that my new baby gets instant results. When Baby speaks, she means business.
