In an effort to stave off the boredom that inevitably sets in 11 minutes days into winter break, Rowan and I decided yesterday to try our hand at sewing. In part because it seemed like a fun project and a good way to pass the time, and in part because the "Ages 8+" was so small on the box that it was easy for a desperate mom to miss.
On top of really enjoying it, sewing really helped to keep us busy. And in her role as technical support to two first-time sewers, my mom was kept even busier rethreading needles, untangling misguided stitches and serving as resident cheerleader -- all while preventing Remy from fishing through the ice drawer in the freezer and her other preferred forms of mischief.
