Stacks of fun

In light of my recent love affair with books and interest in reading -- not to mention a Thursday morning wide open with no plans -- we made our first trip to the library in nearly two years. Rowan's first trip ever.

Filled with computers for pint-sizers, puzzles, dollhouses and puppets -- not to mention a few books -- Mom kinda wondered why we've spent the past couple of years commuting so far from the house to find entertainment.

Granted, it was quite a bit of work on Mom's part to keep Rowan from enjoying the library books a little too much. Shelf after shelf of books right at Rowan level and my sister's affinity for ripping pages made for quite the risky combination.

Right about the time Rowan decided to reorganize every shelf in her reach, Mom declared it time to go. We made our escape with two DVDs and four books. And ever since, I've been wandering around the house clutching this book:

It's the first book that caught my attention when we got to the children's section and the only item I was adamant about leaving the library with.

And, alas, Fancy Nancy's been dethroned by a couple of strange-looking British kids.
